There is an invitation in Deuteronomy 30:19 that is both simple and profound:
Choose life.
Every day gives us opportunities to decide where we place our attention.
We can notice what is going well.
We can appreciate an ordinary morning.
We can become more aware of the blessings that have grown familiar.
We can make room for joy, beauty, laughter and hope.
Choosing life is something we practise in ordinary ways.
It is enjoying the meal.
Playing the music.
Laughing freely.
Receiving love.
Calling someone whose company you enjoy.
Taking the walk.
Looking at the sky.
Giving thanks.
It is remembering that while you are here, your story is still unfolding.
Today, you are invited to practise gratitude deliberately.
Not as an obligation.
As a way of seeing.
Count your blessings.
Notice what makes you smile.
Pay attention to what lifts your spirit.
Remember the goodness you have already experienced.
Expect more goodness ahead.
And each day, make one simple choice:
Choose life.
Life is good because God is faithful forever.
The best is yet to come.Thank you for reading
