There is one source of divine goodness through which all things flow, both on earth and in heaven. Everything we see in creation points us back to God, the source of all goodness.
Each one of us has something within us that can reflect that goodness, regardless of where we come from or what our story may be.
To live a life that reaches beyond ourselves, we must remain connected to God and allow His goodness to influence the way we live, love and relate to others.
When we lose sight of that connection, it becomes very easy to make life entirely about ourselves. We can become self-seeking, disconnected and less considerate of the people around us.
But we were never meant to live only for ourselves.
We can be channels of love, hope and peace. Each of us has a part to play in making the world around us a little kinder, a little more compassionate and a little more connected.
Perhaps the questions, “Who am I?” and “What am I doing here?” begin to take on a different meaning when we realise that our lives are connected to something greater than ourselves.
Life becomes richer when it is not simply about what we can acquire or achieve, but also about what we can give.
Love.
Peace.
Kindness.
Joy.
God’s promises are yes and amen in Christ, and I believe we can live with open hearts, trusting Him for the fullness of life He has given us.
It is good to be connected.
Connected to God.
Connected to ourselves.
Connected to one another.
Perhaps this is what life is really about.
We must not become so busy living that we miss what life has to offer, or forget the people we have the opportunity to love along the way.
So today, reach out and touch somebody’s hand!
Yes, I know – very Diana Ross!
Happy Sunday, and thank you for reading.
